Reply to Karen40---It depends on where you live but in Wa. state where I live there are Denturist''s, now that is not the same as Dentists. Denturest just fit make a mold of your mouth and make and sell you dentures. You can pay anywhere from $300 to $2000 for a pair. Just recently a very good denturest in my town of Spokane had a special of paying only $300 for a full set of dentures that would normally sell for over $600. Dentures are priced as to how much work the denturest has to do to make them look real and the quality of the product that goes into your dentures. You can go to google and type in denturest and then narrow it down to where you live and you will find several denturest advertising their business's. Call each one of them and ask them for a quote on their cheapest pair. Most denturest want cash up front but by getting quotes you might also ask if they will take half down and half the next month. Some will work with you so don''t be afraid to ask. Are you on medicaid? If you are you may be able to get them free. Just let your computer get you the info you need and start calling. Good luck  Sincerely Sheshe030

No worries, and thanks for the nice response.  I know that sadly there are some scams out there, but I'm proud of our company and wanted to be sure you had the correct info.  I know it's a tragedy how many people go without any kind of dental care - even seniors on Medicare don't get any assistance.  I know my company isn't the answer for everyone, but I hope to be able to help some people to save some money and get access to good care.  I'm glad you found the help you needed and were able to save for it - congrats!  Best wishes, Rosie

Someone did post a link to all the free dental cliinics in the country a few weeks back so if you search you can find it.  I'll look for it and send it to you.  And no one will have to wait for treatment with us - as soon as the member has an ID# the dental office can call our customer service line to verify the membership - no waiting for the card is necessary.  And most of our providers will work out a payment plan.

I think the fault is mostly with the insurance companies - they are the ones making all the money, not me and not always the dentist or the doctor.  In fact, providers love our discount plans because once again they are in charge of the care of their patients, not some insurance company telling them what they can and cannot prescribe as treatment.  And the payment is a more direct transaction between the provider and the patient.  Yes, some medical professionals have raked in the money but sadly many more are on the brink of losing their practices because of overly high operating costs and the need for outrageous malpractice insurance.

Best wishes, Rosie

reply to 2shareinform---You have posted some very interesting info, I have never heard of the internet site that lets you take your own impressions and send them in. Thats a good price for dentures and thankyou for sharing it with us. I live in eastern Washington (you know, out in the wilderness) not Seattle. I live in Spokane Wa. and after much searching and internet combing I found a place called Affordable Dentures and called them. If your on medicare and or medicaid you can get a set of dentures for $589 and thats a SET, I could'nt believe it. They charge $300 for just upper or lower and the price includes all impressions and a consult with the dentist about tooth size and color. I was very impressed, especially when my first set cost me over $1000 and have never fit and the teeth are so small you can hardly tell I have any. I agree with you that everyone needs to do their homework because it really pays off. OH! the dentists I went to do not accept any discount cards of any kind and at their prices they don't have to. Thanks  sheshe030

I also work with AmeriPlan and we are very up-front about the fact that we are NOT insurance, we are a discount plan.  Nothing is "covered" as in paid-for by AmeriPlan but also nothing is excluded from the discount.  We have no claim forms, no pre-authorizations and no referrals required.  Elective procedures, cosmetic procedures, routine care - everything is discounted from 20-80% and the discount can be used by your entire household.  We have providers all over the country, so you are not locked into one certain doctor.  If you are on vacation somewhere else in the country you can call our Customer Service number and find a local provider wherever you happen to be.  Insurance also has a "cap" - a limit to benefits they will pay out for the year, and if you go over it then you must pay for everything out of pocket.  AmeriPlan can help bring those costs down.  So yes, it is NOT insurance but it is an affordable alternative or supplement to insurance.  I'm proud of the company and happy to provide any additional info if you ahve questions!  Best wishes, Rosie

Why not tell them the TRUTH? This is a DISCOUNT CARD - NOT HEALTH INSURANCE!

Not all doctors accept these programs

You may have to pay first, then get reimbursed - and in some cases that may be difficult to do.

PLEASE READ THE FINE PRINT and get ALL your questions answered BEFORE YOU SIGN UP OR PAY!
